ONLINE THERAPY & COACHING

I am currently working exclusively online using Zoom. Many people choose online therapy and coaching sessions as a flexible alternative to in-person sessions. Research shows that online and face to face counselling and psychotherapy have equivalent outcomes. However, there can be differences in how people experience online therapy. I am experienced in working in both ways and will be able to advise if I think working online together is not appropriate.

CODE OF ETHICS

I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work within its ethical framework for good practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy. DATA PROTECTION

As required by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) any hard copies of your name and contact details will be kept in a secure, locked cabinet and electronic material will be kept securely in devices which are password protected and encrypted. I will not keep data any longer than is necessary and it will be destroyed securely at the end of the recommended period of retention.

The content of our sessions is confidential and will not be disclosed to anyone unless (1) I am required to so by law or (2) I believe that you, or someone else, is at serious risk of harm. In these rare cases, I will have to break confidentiality and pass on the information. I will involve you in this process as much as I can.

CONFIDENTIALITY

FEES

The fee for counselling, psychotherapy and coaching is £90 per 1 hour session, and £150 for 1.5 hour coaching sessions.

 

To begin with, we will schedule an assessment session which will be an opportunity for us to meet, clarify your goals and agree on how we will work together.

 

Fees can either be paid in advance by purchasing a block of sessions.  Alternatively, if we decide to work together in an open-ended way, I will be happy to invoice you at the end of each month.

MISSED OR CANCELLED APPOINTMENTS

Whereas scheduled breaks such as holidays will not be charged for, my normal fee will be charged for non-attendance or cancelled sessions, unless you are able to give me at least 48 hours notice.

ARRIVING LATE OR TECHNICAL PROBLEMS

If you arrive late for a session, I will not be able to extend the session beyond the allocated time. However, I also understand that it can be difficult for technical reasons to connect sometimes online. I will do my best to adjust to any delay, within reason, due to technical problems at either end. We will discuss and agree how to work together if technical problems arise so that we have a clear process in place.
